Today, I learned...
- ... that Senior Year is a year of lasts/endings/goodbyes. Sure, it is leading up to the beginning of the next chapter of my life, but to get to that beginning, I have to go through a lot of ends. Today was my last high school cross country meet. Probably my last cross country meet ever. Wow. It weighs on the soul. I'm not excited for all the other ends to come.
- ... that I really value those freshmen. I had no idea who most of them were at the beginning of the school year. The ones I did know, I had negative views of due to some rude behavior they displayed in Quiz Bowl. They have pleasantly surprised me. I really love all of those kids! Little Megan, Karen (Zach), Levi, Sam, Luke, and Caleb, they are all amazing.
- ... that I really miss cross country, but I will still see a lot of the team in different activities. These kids are into the right things. They are super involved (which I know is the best thing to be!) and I have faith that they will not go off and do drugs/drink/do bad things. Just mix Mountain Dew.
I'm going to miss running with everyone! Especially my fellow senior, Garrett. And a shout out to Skyler, Corey, Tall Megan, and Scott. Oh! And thank you, Coach.
Love and Sleep,
Mary
