Day #20: Academic Honors

Today, I was recognized as a Kansas Honors Scholar for being in the top 10% of my graduating senior class. Five other students from my class were also recognized, along with a lot of other kids from other schools. We each received a personalized dictionary. Let me just say, awesome! This dictionary is huge!

Today, I learned...

1. ... that even though academics takes the back seat to things like sports, it will still take me farther (and get me cooler things!). My point was proven when one guy mentioned how the two girls from his school had state competitions in their futures. But hey! What's getting a medal (although a very cool thing and high honor) as compared to getting lots of money in the form of college tuition and a huge dictionary? Am I right or am I right?
